About the Program
Cox’s Bazar Humanitarian Response Programme
(A Local, Trusted Partner for Life-Saving and Inclusive Humanitarian Action)
Who We Are :
Jugantar Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (JSUS) is a women-led, nationally registered humanitarian and development organization established in 1997. For over 27 years, JSUS has stood alongside Bangladesh’s most vulnerable communities, delivering principled, accountable, and inclusive humanitarian assistance.
In Cox’s Bazar, JSUS has maintained a continuous presence for more than 18 years, working with Rohingya refugees and host communities. Our strength lies in local leadership, deep community trust, and proven delivery at scale, particularly for women, children, adolescents, persons with disabilities, and older people.
Why Cox’s Bazar?
Cox’s Bazar remains one of the world’s most complex humanitarian contexts. Protracted displacement, climate shocks, overcrowding, protection risks, learning loss, and overstretched health and WASH systems continue to threaten lives and dignity.
Women and girls face heightened GBV risks, children struggle with interrupted education, adolescents experience psychosocial distress, and persons with disabilities are often excluded from essential services. Sustained, inclusive, and locally led humanitarian action is critical.
Our Humanitarian Vision in Cox’s Bazar :
A future where Rohingya refugees and host communities live with dignity, safety, and hope—supported by inclusive systems that protect lives today while building resilience for tomorrow.
Programme Goal :
“To save lives, reduce suffering, and restore dignity of crisis-affected Rohingya refugees and host communities through inclusive, multi-sectoral humanitarian assistance.
